FAQ

Here are some answers to frequently asked questions that you may find useful:

Why do we sometimes have to wait so long for our Chinese food?

While we endeavour to do everything we can to prepare your food as quickly as possible, we are however a small family business and have a limited number of trained staff. On weekends we have additional part-time staff to expedite orders. Should waiting times become too long we will hire more staff when we can.

If you can’t wait for your food then the best thing to do is order during weekdays (Mondays-Thursdays) when we are considerably less busy. If you must order on a weekend we are busiest from 6pm-8pm.

I have an allergy to certain ingredients, what can you do for me?

Yes, in some circumstances we can cater for your allergy. However, we would normally use ingredients that may contain the ingredients that you are allergic to, if we need to omit some of these ingredients it may alter the flavour of the dish. It also depends on what you are allergic to, so be sure to call up and ask, and we’ll do everything we can to cater for you.

Can I change some of the ingredients used in my order?

Yes, we want our customers to be happy with their order. If there is an ingredient you don’t particularly like we can omit it from the dish.

We can also add ingredients, but we will use less of other ingredients to ensure the dish is correctly balanced. While most common ingredients can be added for no extra charge, some ingredients we may need come at additional cost to cover the cost of those ingredients. i.e extra king prawns.

If you change the dish significantly we will try to find the closest in similarity dish on the menu and base the price on that dish. i.e Char Siu Pork with mixed vegetables (not on the menu) would be closest to a beef with mixed vegetables.

Can I change some of the dishes on my set menu?

We will allow one or two changes to dishes on the set-menu, however if you change most of the dishes on the set-menu it will no longer be considered a set-menu order and we will price the dishes individually. i.e. Changing all the dishes on a set-menu A would no longer be a set-menu A.

What methods of payment do you accept?

We currently accept the following forms of payment:

  • Cash
  • Credit Cards

However, we ask customers to use cash whenever possible, we are a predominantly cash run business and paying our suppliers in cash can help to keep our prices down. Card processing fees and PDQ machine rental adds to our overhead, which has an impact on a business as small as ours.

Why don’t you deliver?

Over the years we have ran many businesses, we have never felt the need to have a delivery service. On a busy weekend we operate at full capacity and we would not be able accomodate the extra demand. We also feel that it would increase the cost of running the business and our prices would increase as a result, which goes against our policy of providing great value.

We are hosting a big event can you provide the food?

Yes we cater for large events. In the past we have provided large orders of Chinese food for large parties, retirement homes, and community centres.

However, availability depends on:

  1. What day of the week the event is, and at what hours.
  2. The size and quantity of the order.
  3. How soon the event is and our levels of stock.

(Usually large orders are made weeks in advance to ensure that we have the correct levels of stock.)

Please contact us for more details.

I’m not happy with my order, what should I do?

If you’re not satisfied with your order please contact us. We want to understand the nature of your dissatisfaction so we can better provide for our customers and make improvements where possible.

If we get your order wrong, let us know and we will do what we can to make it right.
